The Museum of Battle Glory under the garrison Officers’ house in Irkutsk was opened in 2000 in honour the fiftieth anniversary of the USSR’s victory in the Great Patriotic War. However, the museum’s history begins in 1975 when a hall of “battle glory” was opened in the Officers’ house. Currently, at the Museum of Battle Glory there are the only Colours of the Great Patriotic War remained in Irkutsk region. There is also warlike equipment exhibition in the open air under the museum.
