Krestovsky Cape

See map »
Krestovsky Cape is located on the western shore of Lake Baikal, not far from Buguldeyka village. The Buryats called the cape “Dayn-Hoshun” that means “cape of war”. Such a name was given because of the remains of the stone walls which played the role of defence and watch construction in times of Kurykans. One more attraction is an old quarry where millstones for watermills were produced. Some of those millstones of 1.5 m in diameter and about 80 cm thick are still lying on the shore of the Baikal.
