A snowmobile safari adventure, discovery of local culture and beautiful scenery are on the menu. You will start your trip with a visit to the city of Petrozavodsk and the discovery of the unique waterfalls. The Kivatch is the second largest waterfall in Europe after those of the Rhine and falls from the height of 10.7 m. The name of the waterfall comes from the Karelian "kivas" which means "snow mountain." In 1785 the Russian poet Derzhavin, who visited this place, devoted the ode "Cascade" to this natural monument. During 2-day snowmobile tour you will discover the folk culture and cuisine of Karelia, also its fauna in a zoo complex. During your stay you will be accommodated at Denisov Mys Resort located in a picturesque place on a strip of sand in the middle of Lake Syamozero. It has a restaurant, seven cottages and a banya (traditional Russian bath) at the lake. For a snowmobile safari you will be provided with all necessary equipment: windproof suits, helmets, shoes, gloves. The make of the snowmobile is Yamaha VK-540 III. PETROZAVODSK, KIVATCH AND DORMITION CHURCH
Meeting at the railway station in Petrozavodsk. Meeting of tourists arriving by train No. 658 from St. Petersburg. 3 free hours. Meeting of tourists arriving by train No. 18 and 382 from Moscow. Breakfast at a café. City-tour of Petrozavodsk. Discovery of the main attractions of the city, acquaintance with its history. Visit to the shores of Lake Onega and a sculpture collection of avant-garde art. Start from Kivatch nature reserve. Discover the waterfalls, visit the Museum of Nature. Lunch. Excursion to the city of Kondopoga and visit of Dormition Church. Transfer to Denisov Mys resort. Accommodation. At 21:00 you will have New Year's Eve dinner party at a restaurant with an entertainment program. Day 2
SNOWMOBILES AND ROUBTCHEYLA
After breakfast, ride snowmobiles along a forest road: resort - Roubtcheyla village - resort (80 km). Roubtcheyla represents a complex of monuments of Karelian wooden architecture of the nineteenth century. You will be introduced to the folk traditions of Lake Syamozero region and will attend the folk concert. You will also taste and enjoy traditional dishes of the Karelian cuisine. After the return to the resort you will have bania. Dinner with an entertainment program. Day 3
SNOWMOBILES AND ZOO COMPLEX
After breakfast, ride snowmobiles to "Three Bears" zoo complex on the shores of Lake Syamozero (80 km). You will find different animals in spacious pens on the territory of the complex: bears, elks, raccoons, dogs, lynxes, wolves, ferrets, chinchillas, foxes and others. The guide will tell you about the habits of these animals. You will have a road picnic (tea, sandwiches, fruit, cakes). Return to the resort. Transfer to Petrozavodsk (70 km). 6:00 p.m. Dinner at a café. 7:00 p.m. Departure by train No. 17 to Moscow. 10:50 p.m. Departure by train No. 657 to St. Petersburg.
