Located about 650 km in the south of Moscow, Voronezh region offers interesting although little-known cultural, architectural and nature wonders.

In this tour you are going to visit the city of Voronezh which grew up in the 16th century, you are going to discover Khrenovsky stud, which breeds Orlov trotter, traditionnally used to pull troikas, you will admire the fabulous Divnogorye Chalk monuments, and will explore Russians princes and artists properties.

  • Day 1
    Optional: train ticket Moscow to Voronezh (night train - departure 1st November) 08:00 AM - Group meeting at Voronezh train station 09:30 AM - Installation in the hotel and breakfast 11:00 AM - Sightseeing tour of the city of Voronezh, which developed itself on the impulse of Fyodor the 1st, during the 16th century: Admiralty Square, Monastery Alekseevo - Akatova, church of the Annunciation, monument to Peter the Great, Stone Bridge. 02:00 PM - Lunch 03:00 PM - Excursion to Khrenovsky stud, the oldest stud farm in Russia. Founded in 1776 by Count Orlov-Chesmensky, the stud breeds Orlov trotter. The farm itself is a beautiful example of Russian architecture. 08:00 PM - Dinner at the hotel and night
  • Day 2
    09:00 AM - Breakfast 10:00 AM - Excursion to one of Russia's natural, archeological and architectural wonders: Divnogorye. We will discover the amazing chalk monuments "Divy" (miracles), chalk canyons, Mayatskaya fortress and beautiful landscapes of the museum-reserve. Visit of Divnogorsky Holy Dormition Monastery. Lunch in the refectory of the monastery. Visit of the cave chalk church of the Sicilian Mother of God which was built in the 17th century and of the church of St John the Baptist. 08:00 PM - Dinner at the hotel and night
  • Day 3
    08:00 AM - Breakfast 09:00 AM - Excursion to the Biosphere Reserve with a visit to the beaver nursery. Visit of Tolshevsky monastery, built in the Middle-Age on the order of Tsar Alexey Mikhaylovich. 01:00 PM - Lunch 02:00 PM - Excursion to Novozhivotinnoe, where we are going to visit of the museum-estate dedicated to the Russian Romantic poet D. Venevitinov. Then, visit of the Ramon Estate. This pretty English-style castle has been built at the end of 19th century on the order of Tsar Alexander II, who gave it as a present to his niece, Eugenia, Princess of Oldenburg.
