Tour Overview

The unique and mysterious White Sea has attracted travelers with its beauty from ancient times. This trip is designed for true explorers, lovers of the boreal wilderness austere. By traveling by sea kayak we will discover not only the scenic beauty of the North Karelia but also the Hyperborean and Saami ancient cultures, the remains of old stone buildings, mazes and sacred places.

The journey begins in the town of Kem where you can come by night train from Moscow or St. Petersburg in the early morning or the day before.

The route is given as an indication and will depend on weather conditions. All equipment and the majority of affairs will be transported by a support boat all throughout the trip.

To take part in this trip you must be in a very good physical condition. The trip is not recommended for children and people with medical restrictions.

It is possible to extend this tour with a discovery day of the Solovki islands and of the Solovetsky Monastery, in addition.

Tour programme
  • Day 1
    KEM - RABOTCHEOSTROVSK - WHITE SEA Arrival at the station of the city of Kem early morning. Reception at the station and transfer to the village of Rabotcheostrovsk. Boarding on the support boat and trip to the first camp (Miagreka river). Outdoor breakfast. Equipment preparation, explanations and setting with water of the kayaks. Half day devoted to the training. Dinner. Night under the tent.
  • Day 2
    WHITE SEA Breakfast. Equipment preparation. Trip on the sea to one of the islands of Kem 10-15 km. Lunch. Dinner. Night under the tent.
  • Day 3
    WHITE SEA Trip to the Russky and Nemetski Kouzov archipels. Installation of camps on one of the islands. Night under the tent.
  • Day 4
    WHITE SEA Navigation around the islands of Olechine, Lodeyni, Russky Kouzov, Nemetski Kouzov... Discovery of labyrinths, sacred places, burial fields. Food and overnight at bivouac. Possibility to install a banya in the camp.
  • Day 5
    WHITE SEA The same : Navigation around the islands of Olechine, Lodeyni, Russky Kouzov, Nemetski Kouzov... Discovery of labyrinths, sacred places, burial fields. Food and overnight at bivouac. Possibility to install a banya in the camp.
  • Day 6

  • Day 7
    WHITE SEA After breakfast, journey from the archipelago to Rabotcheostrovsk, 20 km. Lunch. Bivouac and night near the continent / on the continent.
  • Day 8
    RABOTCHEOSTROVSK - KEM Transfer to the station of Kem. Departure by train № 211 at 04:35 or № 15 at 06:36 to St. Petersburg or Moscow.
