Tour Overview

This is an unforgettable voyage that gives you a wonderful opportunity to discover summer Baikal from all aspects. We are going to show you the most paradisiacal views, guide you through the secret places of nature, and acquaint you with cultures you have never heard of.

Starting out from the outflow of the Angara River in the south of the lake, we will traverse Baikal up to Pokoyny Cape from where our sail across the lake to its opposite shore will start. After reaching it, we will continue sailing along the coast and then cross the lake diagonally to return to the strait separating the largest island of Baikal from its shore. In the course of this round voyage, we are going to fish, moor in picturesque bays, take rambles in the wild, watch nerpas and other animals (depending on a season it’s even possible to encounter a brown bear), bask in the sun and bathe, spend evenings around the fire, and dine on the deck of our ship admiring the sunset!

Thus, we are going to make a marvelous voyage of more than 1200 km! Finally, we will discover picturesque Tazheranskaya Steppe on our way back to Irkutsk.

  • Day 6
OLKHON ISLAND – BAIKALO-LENSKY NATURE RESERVE Sail along the western coast to cape “Zavorotniy”. If the weather conditions are good it’s possible to stop near Rytyi cape and Pokoiniki cape – the territory of Baikal-Lenskiy reserve. The mysterious cape “Rytyi” is located in the central part of the Baikal on western coast, opposite the widest place of the Baikal. There are no any settlements here, it couldn’t be reached by any highways, and there is no even track along the coast to this place. Local residents diligently avoid visiting cape “Rytyi”, calling it as a damned place. Something inexplicable still happens at this cape. The source of such influence remains unclear for people. The cape “Pokoiniki” is located in the north part on western coast at the foot of the Baikal mountain ridge. On one of the first maps this cape was called “Pokoiniy”. The fold, near it, has the same name. And then, this name had changed to “Pokoiniki”, which means in English “dead people”. Nowadays old weather station “Solnechnaya” is located here. Lunch on the boat.

Its ingeniously drawn creeks, steep cliffs, majestic capes, colonies of birds, and flocks of fish make it incredibly attractive. When the water is low, the shores of the gulf warm under the sun and make it possible to bathe.
  • Day 8
CHIVYRKUYSKY GULF Breakfast of the board. This day will be devoted to the rest in the gulf. Fishing.
