This hiking connecting the village of Listvyanka and Bolshiye Koty is aimed at making you discover the landscapes of frozen lake and its crystalline ice field. Its advantage is accessibility of a relatively difficult adventure (20 km a day, maybe hard weather conditions) to any healthy person who likes walking – thanks to carring only our personal things and packed lunch and no elevation changes.

We will stay overnight in warm homestay in the village and will taste local cuisine. We will visit the village of Bolshiye Koty and its surroundings, its nice small museum of the lake.

Day 1 Transfer to the bus station at about 9 a.m. Morning departure to Listvyanka by scheduled bus. In the village opportunity to taste smoked omul, endemic fish of the Baikal, a local gourmet item. Buying food for hiking. Start of hiking. Lunch (picnic). Getting Bolshiye Koty, having a rest, banya (Russian sauna), dinner.

Day 2 After breakfast, hiking to the north, to Skriper Cape, opportunity to climb the cape to admire a breathtaking panorama of the lake. We will see enormous snowy fields of ice, through which we will be able to see the bottom. Lunch at locals’. Return to Listvyanka by car. Arrival in Listvyanka. Return to Irkutsk by bus at about 7 p.m. Transfer to the hotel or to the station. End of the programme.
