50 kilometers far from the lake extends the vast space of Barguzinskaya valley. According to the legend this land is the birthplace of the mother of Genghis Khan, and it is rich in archaeological and natural landmarks. Cave paintings dating of more than 3000 years, the stones garden of more than 10 square kilometres, salt lakes and teeth of majestic rocks. We will discover the famous stone-bull, sacred place of Buryats of the village of Barguzin.

By offroadster we will cross these most boreal steppes of Asia which contrast so much with the nature of the Baikal.

We will devote a whole day to explore Chivyrkuyskiy gulf, the most beautiful gulf of Lake Baikal, on board of a fishing boat.

Day 1 Transfer to the bus station of Ulan-Ude at about 9 a.m. Departure to Ust-Barguzin by bus (240 km). We will cross taiga and reach the Baikal lakeside, then our way will be along-shore (and sometimes it is only a track, not road...). Arrival to the village. Homestay accommodation, lunch.Discovery of village, walk along the shore. Dinner with locals. In the evening banya (Russian sauna).

Day 2 All the day: excursion to Barguzinskaya valley passing the village of Barguzin (not to be confused with Ust-Barguzin), the first place of residence of Russians near Baikal. Picnic outdoors. Return to Ust-Barguzin in the evening, overnight at homestay. Opportunity to take banya.

Day 3 All the day excursion to the Baikal. Early in the morning we will go by offroadster to the hamlet of Monakhovo along the strip of sand which separates two gulfs. On the way - discovery of Barguzinskiy Gulf and Svyatoy Nos Peninsula. Boarding a fishing boat, large tour to the Chivyrkuyskiy Gulf. Visit to Zmeynaya Bay and its hot springs, bathe. Lunch in the open air - you will appreciate local food, an endemic fish - fresh omul. Return to Ust-Barguzin in the evening, overnight at homestay, opportunity to take banya.

Day 4 After breakfast return to Ulan-Ude early in the morning. Arrival to the city at about 2 p.m., transfer to the hotel or to the station. End of the programme.
