This trip will allow you to discover Lake Baikal, the city of Irkutsk and the Buryat village of Arshan in summer as well in winter. On the way from Listvyanka to Irkutsk you will admire the museum of traditional Russian architecture. After a walk in the surroundings of Listvyanka you will spend a night in the guesthouse on the lakeside.

After visiting Irkutsk we will go to the south of the lake again passing Tunkinskaya valley and will arrive in Arshan. Located at the foot of Eastern Sayan, this village has several thermal sources. We will visit there the Buddhist temple, Datsan, the gorge of the Kyngarga and its water falls.

One of the advantages of this trip is that it is possible all year round.

Day 1 Morning departure to Listvyanka by sheduled bus. Discovery of Lake Baikal watching Shaman Rock emerging from the mouth of the Angara. Visit to the Baikal museum and its aquarium with fish and seals of the lake. Ascending Chersky Rock by ropeway or on foot - at will (30 min. approximately), wonderful panorama on the lake and the Angara-river. Accommodation in the guesthouse. Lunch in the restaurant with a view of the Baikal. Boat trip - it depends on a season. Visiting the market with its typical saleswomen of omul. Opportunity to taste smoked omul, endemic fish of the lake. Overnight in the guesthouse.

Day 2 After the breakfast, passage by car to Taltsy, museum of traditional architecture in the open air, with lunch there. Way back to Irkutsk. City tour: historical centre, churches, old streets and wooden houses, visit to the Decembrists museum. Dinner in the restaurant. Hotel overnight.

Day 3 Morning departure to Sayans by sheduled bus. Three hours later you will reach the mountains: if the weather is fine you will wonder a beautiful view. Lunch on the way (not included in the price). One hour later arrival in Arshan. Accommodation in the guesthouse. Discovery of the village, walks.

Day 4 After the breakfast visit to Buddhist temple, Datsan, opportunity to attend the morning service at 10 a.m. Walk to the waterfall of the Kyngarga, discovery of sacred forest with its mineral water sourses. For more trained - possibility to climb Peak of Love (400m high) to admire the panorama of Tunkinskaya valley (3 hours of walk on the steep slope). Lunch in the village. In the afternoon way back to the city by sheduled bus. Arrival in Irkutsk in the evening, transfer to the hotel or to the station. End of the programme.
