This one-day trip allows you to discover Bolshiye Koty, a small village that is 18 km to the north of Listvyanka. There is only one path between Listvyanka and Bolshiye Koty, so the latter is not a point of usual tourist itineraries.
At first Bolshiye Koty was the village of gold diggers being extracted here in 1842. We can still see the remnants of this activity: the valley hills and even... two ancient dredges almost demolished. Today the village is known for its biological station. In Bolshiye Koty there is the Baikal museum, which contains a rich collection of dragonflies, butterflies, beetles, crayfish, algae and etc.
