Chernigovsky skete

The Chernigovsky skete is a monastery. Founded in 1845 and located to the south of the Lavra it is the second monastery in Sergiev Possad. It counts not less pilgrims than the first one, because they come to pray Our Lady of Chernigov, as well as thanks her for her miracles. Since 1990 priests renewed excursions to the grotto situated under the Chernigov basilica. The majority of buildings are left in the most pure Russian style of 19-20th centuries.
