Drama Theatre

First amateur performances of the Drama Theatre in Tyumen were organized in 1858. Shortly after that art patron A.I. Tekutyev assigned money for the construction of a building for the theatre. In 1938 the theatre acquired a permanent troupe of actors, which has been an invariable success on tour in numerous cities of Russia and the neighbouring countries. In 2008 the theatre moved to a new building granted by the government of the Tyumen region.
