Kachalov Theatre

The Kachalov Kazan Academic Drama Theatre is one of the major and the oldest drama theatres in Russia. It was founded in 1791. Its repertoire, based on the best Russian and world classical and modern works of literature, as well as a professional permanent troupe attract attention of various parts of the population in Kazan and far beyond its borders. The theatre takes part in international and Russian theatre festivals every year which does not only make the theatre largely known, but also makes it an integral part of the world theatrical community.
