Museum of Local Lore

The Chita Region Museum of Local Lore was founded in 1895 by A.K. Kuznetsov. Presently it is located in a two-storeyed stone building, constructed in 1914. The museum exposes unique archaeological, ethnographical and arts collections dedicated to the life and culture of the ancient peoples of the Transbaikalia, their religion, household, customs and traditions and applied arts and crafts. All the exhibits number more than 180 thousand.
