Museum of the city’s history
The Museum of Ulan-Ude’s history was founded on December 10, 1999. It is located in the house of merchant and honor citizen Ivan Goldobin. This house is in the historical part of the city and shows the architecture of the late 19th century.
It was built in 1888 and is famous for welcoming future emperor Nicolas II in 1891 on one of his stop during his travel around the world. From September 2011 to June 2004, the building was in restoration. It now looks a lot more like it used to in the late 19th – early 20th century.
