Sculpture of “Mother Buryatia”

The sculpture of “Mother Buryatia” or “Hospitable Mother” was erected in Ulan-Ude in 2002. It serves as an extension to the architectural complex of the Opera and Ballet Theatre. The 8 meters high bronze statue depicts a woman with a traditional Buryat “khadak” in her hand. It stands on a pedestal, which makes it the highest monument of the city.
