Museum of the History and Culture of the Northern Peoples

The Yaroslavsky State Museum of the History and Culture of the Northern Peoples is one of the oldest and richest museums in Siberia and Far East. The museum was founded on the initiative of political deportees and it was unveiled on May 26th 1891. It became the first scientist and cultural structure in the region. Today the collections of the museums count about 140,000 items.
