Chitkanskaya Cave

Chitkanskaya Cave is located 30 km away from Barguzin village. According to beliefs, Barguty people lived there in ancient times. There are 2 big halls in the cave. The height of the first hall is 2.5 meters and of the second one is 3 meters. Total length of the cave is 12 meters. Fragments of ceramic dishes of early Iron Age period were found there. as well as bones of various animals. Local people say that different Mongolian signs were put on the walls there, which disappeared throughout time.
