Sacred Yord mountain

Yord mountain has such an ideal shape that looks like an artificial mound. There are numerous old legends and folk tales about this place. Local people say that at the bottom of this mountain at the Kurykan era there was a big religious celebration held once a year, for which people from all Baikal lake region gathered together. Furthermore, mount Yord probably has some kind of connection with genetic Buryat shrine. According to ancient tradition, holding family - tribe celebration required a big central object - sacred mountain, through which a contact was held with sky gods who send divine goodness of Eternal Blue Sky. Probably Yord mountain was such sacred mountain.
