Maliy Zhombolok

Maliy Zhombolok is a waterfall of 20-22 meters high. The first mention about this waterfall appeared in XIX century. At that time a famous geographer, Russian prince Kropotkin P.A. visited this place. For several kilometers Zhombolok river is divided into 2 canals. A narrow canal - Baga-Zhombolok runs along plain territory which is filled with clinkers until it reaches steep canyon of Oka river, where Bulun spring falls down from basalt ledge of about 20 meters high into a round gap of about 40 meters in diameter and forms a waterfall Maliy Zhombolok. The waterfall is considered a sacred place among local people. At the place where the waterfall falls there is a small lake, the water from which runs to Oka river. Rocky walls collapse regularly, that's why it is not recommended to stand under the hanging rocks and especially under the waterfall.
