Slyudyanskoye lake
Slyudyanskoye lake is divided by a narrow ridge into two lakes, that's why sometimes people call this place Slydyanskiye lakes.
In the 1930's mica was extracted for the defense industry from the mountains above the lakes. Since that time there is a winding trail that leads to the mine.
The magnificent panoramic view to Baikal shoreline, Tonkiy cape and Boguchan island opens up from the slopes. Slyudyanskiye lakes are surrounded with pine trees and have wonderful sandy beaches. The clear water of the lakes gets quite warm in summer time. The lakes are located at a height of 456 meters above the sea-level.
