Vachkazhets Volcano

Vachkazhets volcano is located 80km west from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. This volcano stands on the western side of the volcanic massif of the same name. At first, Vachkazhets was a just one volcano. After a violent eruption, it burst out and divided itself into three parts: Letnaya Poperechnaya Mountain (1,417m), Vachkazhtsy Mountain (1,500m) and Vachkazhets Volcano itself reaching 1,556 meters. The date of the last eruption of this extinct volcano is unknown. Nearby is Nachikinskoye Lake.
