Museum of the Battle of Stalingrad

This museum opened in 1985. Its central piece is the panorama “Defeat of German forces in Stalingrad” that creates a global image of the city fighting and reflects the courage of its defenders. The exhibition contains close to 4,000 items that tell the story of the battle of Stalingrad, including documents, decorations, weapons, personal effects and letters of soldiers and commanders. The museum also includes the ruins of an old mill built I 1903.
