Railway Transport History Museum
Created in 2004, the museum is located within the Rizhskaya train station.
The visitors are shown steam engines, including one that is considered the most interesting item in the museum: a pre-revolution Class O locomotive. It has been nicknamed «ewe». Not far you get to see one of the most powerful soviet steam engines: a Felix Dzerzhinksy locomotive.
Among other machines visitors can see a German wagon, taken during World War two, oil burners, electric locomotives, and a diesel engine nicknamed «The king of Desert», armored wagons used for official visits and a wagon that was used to carry horses and troops during the First World War.
On Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, at noon, you can board a retro-train. It will take you a few kilometers further to the Podmoskovnaya station.
