Tour Overview

In the early 18th century, Tsar Peter-the-Great decided to build a new capital for the Russian Empire, a jewel city on the Neva, “a window to the West”: St Petersburg.

Tsar Peter-the-Great invited many European and Russian architects and artists to build this graceful, cosmopolitan and artistic city, proudness of the Russian Empire. St Petersburg: A fairytale city, which tells its stories along water flows and palaces.

After a walking tour through the historic city centre, visit of the Hermitage museum outstanding collections. Then rivers and canal tour to enjoy the city from another point of view.

Visit of two amazing sites: St Isaac’s Cathedral and the imperial residence of Peterhof.

The tour ends up with a visit of Paul and Peter fortress and St Paul and St Peter Cathedral where members of the Romanov Imperial family are buried.

  • Day 1
    10:00 AM - Meeting with your guide Walking tour of the historic centre during which you will discover the heart of Saint Petersburg: Admiralty, Bronze Horseman, St Isaac's Cathedrale, Mariinsky palace and theatre, Kazan Cathedral, Singer building, Gostiny Dvor - one of the first indoors mall in the world, Pr. Nevsky, Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, Summer garden, Palace Square and Hermitage. 01:00 PM - Lunch (not included) 02:00 PM - Guided tour of the Hermitage museum - one of the largest museum in the world. Museum collections include paintings from Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Tizian, Rembrandt, Rubens, French impressionists and post impressionists. Then, you will visit the Winter Palace, which was the main residence of Tsars, jewel of the Russian baroque art. 07:00 PM - Rivers and canal tour which will give you another view of the city, from the water. Transfer to your hotel. Dinner and night at the hotel.

    Breakfast 09:45 AM - Meeting with your guide at the hotel. Private transfer to the city centre. 10:00 AM - Visit of St Isaac's Cathedral, one of the largest Russian orthodox cathedral, it has been built at the beginning of the 19th century. Access to the colonnade and panoramic view on historic centre of the city. 01:00 PM - Lunch (not included) 02:00 PM - Hydrofoil to Peterhof, a magnificient ensemble of palaces, parks and gardens. The Great Palace has been built on the orders of Tsar Peter-the-Great, who get inspired from Chateau de Versailles in France. Visit of the Grand Palace, Upper-, Lower Gardens and Grand Cascade. Retour to the hotel (hydrofoil and private transfer) Dinner and night. Optional: Performance at the Mariinsky Theatre
  • Day 3
    Breakfast 09:45 AM - Meeting with your guide at the hotel. Metro ride to Gorkovskaya station, recently renovated, this metro station looks like a ufo. 10:15 AM - Visit of Paul and Peter Fortress, built on the orders of Peter-the-Great to protect the future Russian capital against Swedes. Visit of the Cathedral St Peter and St Paul, where imperial members of the Romanov dynasty are buried since Peter the Great. 01:00 PM - End of prestations Optional: transfer to the airport
