Tour Overview

The national park Paanajärvi is located on the northernmost part of Karelia on the border with Finland and the Arctic Circle. This place protected from human activity unites picturesque landscapes. Here you will see for sure the aurora borealis in the evening. Here you will discover completely snow-covered forest and awesome natural beauty. Here you won't see thousands of tourists...

You will stay at the resort "Niska" equiped with very comfortable rooms - you will appreciate it after riding a snowmobile more than 75 mi (120 km) per day!

We use only modern models of snowmobiles:  Lynx Xtirm 600 ACE, Lynx ranger 600 ACE or Lynx adventure.

 

Tour programme
  • Day 1
    Arrival by train № 92 or № 16 on the railway station Loukhi. Meeting with participants. Transfer to the village of Piaozersky, 75 mi (120 km). Breakfast in the visiting center of the parc "Paanajärvi". Fitting of the equipment. Briefing about riding. Departure on snowmobile to the itinerary: village of Piaozersky - the Poncha river - lake Piaozero - Talvichali island - Maya island - Vuoshkaloshari island - Piaoniyemi peninsula - bay Payguba - resort "Niska", 90 km. Arrival on the resort, accommodation. Lunch. Free time / ice fishing according to the desire of the group. Dinner. Bania (Russian sauna). Night at the resort.
  • Day 2
    Breakfast. Departure on snowmobile to the itinerary: resort "Niska" - lake Piaozero - national park "Paanajärvi" - ascension on the highest mountain of Karelia Nuoronen (576 m) - lake Mustayarvi - lake Selkuyarvi - lake Paanayarvi - ascension on the mountain Kivakkaturi (499 m) - the Olanga river - waterfall Kivakkakoski - resort "Niska", 87,5 mi (140 km). Outdoor picninc: hot tea, sandwitches, cookies, sweets. Return to the resort. Dinner. Possibility to go to take bania (not included).
  • Day 3
    Breakfast. 12:00 p.m. - departure to the itinerary: lake Piaozero - the Poncha river - veillage of Piaozersky, 75 mi (120 km). En route hot lunch. Accommodation at the hotel of the village of Piaozerski. Dinner at the restaurant of the hotel.
  • Day 4
    1:00 p.m. - transfer to the railway station of Loukhi. Boarding a night train to Saint-Petersburg or Moscow. Departure between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. End of the program.

          The price is given for the group of 5 persons. The price is indicated for two persons per snowmobile.Single supplement is 10 000 roubles. The snowmobile driving is allowed for tourists above 18 years old. The supplement for the comfort accommodation is 5 000 roubles.
