Tours to Yakutia

Altai
Shantar islands

Travel to Yakutia gives unforgettable impressions for anyone who discover this Russian region!

Yakutia or Sakha Republic is the largest subject of the Russian Federation. With its 3,083,523 sq-km it is only slightly smaller than India. However, its population is fewer than one million. It is easily understandable when you consider the extreme climate. Let us remind that over a third of Yakutia lies above the Arctic Circle. The Yakuts, the main ethnic group, already lived there long before the arrival of Russian Cossacks in the 17th century. They were able to adapt to this land that seemed so hostile at first sight. It is a mountainous area; the landscape is predominantly taiga forest and toundra. The soil, - which is almost entirely covered by permafrost (frozen soil) - conceals important richness such as gold and diamond fields. That would make anyone forget about the harshness of winter..

Our tours start from Yakutsk - the capital of the Sakha Republic and the destination where you can fly to from Moscow or any principal city of Russia! Yakutsk is the largest city located in the Permafrost zone. There you will spend a night in a hotel before taking an the amazing trip running far away from civilization in the places where there is no mobile network is available, allow yourself to forget about the noisiness and fussiness of everyday life in the city. We provide all kinds of adventures for you in this trip: acquaintance with the local ethnic group, national cuisine tasting, museum visiting, winter and summer fishing, dog and reindeer sledding and other adventures.

BaikalNature will gladly show you the beauty of this Siberian place with it's mighty rivers and the astonishing flora and fauna.
