Saint Petersburg's Musem of Theatre and Music
This museum, located near the Alexandrinsky theatre, is hosted in the former building of the Direction of the Imperial Theatres.
Founded in 1908, it contains among other things outlines of plays made by famous masters as well as many costumes made by the Imperial theater studio. It honors many figures of Russian musical art such as Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) or Feodor Chaliapin (1873-1938). Opera singer, he is considered as one of the greatest bass voices in Russia.
The museum also intends to be an active artistic stage. Performances by Russian and foreign artists take place regularly.
