History Museum of Kronstadt

This museum, created in 1991, tells the whole history of the city-fortress of Kronstadt. Located on Koltline Island (golf of Neva River) and quite close to Saint Petersburg, it was meant to defend it. Hosted in an Empire style building from the 19th century, the museum contains a collection of over six thousand items. It tells the story of the city and its inhabitants. One can see objects of everyday life, technical objects, small-scale models, military equipment, sculptures, tableware, coins, costumes, pictures, letters as well as other archive documents.
