Museum of Erotica

This museum, the first of the kind in Russia, was created in 2004 by Igor Kniazkin. He is the chief doctor at the Center of Research on prostate of Saint Petersburg. The most famous item in its collection is the so-called penis of Rasputin. The story says that after he was murdered in 1916 in the Yusupov Palace he was emasculated. The penis would have been bought 6,600 euros to french collectors. The director of the museum only displays a part of the twelve thousand erotic objects that he gathered. However, many documents and ancient art works can be seen.
