Toy Museum

The Artistic and Pedagogic Museum of Toy is a dream land of any child of the world. Serguiev Possad is considered Russian capital of toys; one can find here first matryoshkas (Russian nested dolls). The Museum was founded in 1918 and it’s possible to track the evolution of toys during the Soviet regime. The Museum is very interesting in its kind because of toys made in Russia, especially those that little tsars played with. Since June 2001 it’s possible to see favourite toys of Tsarevich Alexei, like some locomotive or ship models. The Museum includes several halls with more than 30 000 samples of toys from different nations including some from Asian people. In the Museum there is a puppet theatre and a toy shop.
