Monument "Permyak - Salted Ears"

The monument represents the saying "Permyak (inhabitant of Perm) - Salted Ears" immortalized in granite and bronze. This saying, which has long been in use among common people, is connected with salt extraction in the upper reach of the Kama River. The salt mined in the cities of Solikamsk and Berezniki was invariably in demand at the largest fairs of Russia. The monument made by Rustam Ismagilov is a granite column crowned with an oval frame with ears. Two meters in height and one meter and a half in width and length, this monument was erected in Perm in April 2006. It was sized up in such a way so that everybody could "try the ears on".
