Museum of Regional Studies after the name of I. Y. Slovtsov

The Tyumen Museum of Regional Studies after the name of I. Y. Slovtsov is one of the major museums in Siberia. The founder of the museum is Russian scientist, pedagogue and specialist in local history I.Y. Slovtsov, whose private collection of Siberian antiquities made up the basis for the museum. At the present moment the museum has six affiliates, including the Archaelogical Museum-Reserve at Lake Andreevskoye which represents a unique archaelogical complex that covers the region history all the way from antiquity up to this day. The collection of the museum includes more than 230 thousand objects of local history and nature.
