Museum of Fine Arts

The Tyumen region Museum of Fine Arts was founded in 1959 as an art gallery that had 760 exhibits by the time of its inauguration. The bulk of the collection was formed by the objects transferred to the museum from Tyumen and Tobolsk Museums of Regional Studies, Museum of Fine Arts after A.S. Pushkin, State Hermitage, Perm State Art Gallery and a number of other museums. Now the exposition of the museum consists of three departments: the classical Russian and foreign art, Soviet art and the art of the Tyumen region. The museum offers the following excursions: "The Russian art of the XVIII - early XX c.", "Contemporary Russian art", "Old Russian art", "The folk art of the Tyumen region", "The traditional and fine art of the native peoples of the north of the Ob river" and "Tobolsk decorative bone carving".
