Masharov's House

The museum "Masharov's House" was opened in 1994 in the stone mansion of famous Tyumen industrialist Nikolay Dmitrievich Masharov (1865 - 1922), one of the founders of the iron casting industry in Tyumen. The mansion which is a historic and architectural monument of the late XIX - early XXth c. was built after the project of architect P.K. Tchakin in the neoclassic style. Owing to the scrupulous work of the restorers and scientific workers of the museum, the principal part of the interior including decor of the ovens and fireplace, ceiling modeling, doors, wooden floor, staircase and verandah, has been restored. At present the museum offers the exposition "Family Album" composed of photographs, documents and personal stuff of several well-known Tyumen families.
