Museum "Art of the Omsk City"

The museum "Art of the Omsk City" is a unique phenomenon in the cultural life of Russia. It appeared in February 1991 at the initiative of art critic Vladimir Fyodorovich Chirkov. The museum is unique as it is oriented to the local culture - the culture of Omsk. The collection of the museum comprises paintings, graphic works, sculptures, objects of decorative and applied arts, photos, newspaper pages and childhood drawings of Omsk artists. The aim of the museum is to reflect the richness and originality of the cultural environment, the diversity of methods, styles and directions and to keep the works of art created by the local artists for the descendants.
