Aquarium

The aquarium is the only marine museum in Russia’s Far East. It is located in the city centre. It opened in 1991. Its exhibition is dedicated to the fauna and flora of the Pacific Ocean. In the four 1,300 sq-m halls you will find the diaroma “Shelter of seals and gathering of birds”, penguins’ biogroups, albatros, coral reef and sea-otters. The museum also contains many shellfish, corals, sponges, fishes and other sea animals. In the great hall it is possible to observe the fauna from fresh water’s reservoirs of the Far East, of Peter the Great Bay (in Japan’s Sea) and from tropical seas.
