Buryatia Nature Museum

This museum was unveiled on July 12, 1983. It is located in a stoned one-storey building that used to belong to the former public Administration. It was built during World War I by Austrian prisoners. In this museum, whose primary goal is ecological education, every year are organized scientific conferences, ecological actions, contests, and activities for children. The exhibition dedicated to Lake Baikal is divided into 5 halls. The museum reflects the richness of Buryatia’s nature, the relationship between Man and nature and raises the questions of environment protection.
