Solyanaya Square

Since the foundation of the city the military garrison of Tomsk were paid with money, bread and salt for their service. All these items came from the city of Toblosk and were delivered on Solyanaya Square. Later the square hosted warehouses that belonged to merchants that supplied the whole province in bread and other products. For a while the square was called Proviantskaya. Now it is surrounded by buildings of various architectures.
