Tomsk Ethnographic Museum
The Regional Ethnographic Museum is located in the center of Tomsk, on the territory of Astachev's estate dating back to the 19th century. The main building is classified as an federal architectural monument.
The collection of the ethnographic museum is considered as one of the largest in Siberia and includes over 120,000 items. However the main part of the collection stays in the storerooms. In the 12 halls of the museum are organized thematic exhibitions: ”Mr Astachev's place”, ”Rites of the peoples of Siberia”, ”Khantys and Mansis Myths”, ”Modern style in Tomsk's art” and many others.
The archeology section contains objects of the material and spiritual culture of the peoples who inhabited the territory from the 17th century BC to the 17th century of our era.
