Relict spruce forest

Relict spruce forest is the only big massive of spruce forest on Olkhon island. It remains there since ice age. Hydrophilic trees managed to remain since time immemorial due to favorable conditions when climate on Olkhon island was more humid. Relict spruce forest grows at the highest part of the island. At this territory the humidity is higher and underground waters are not deep.
