Belaya Viyemka

Belaya Viyemka is a geological cut, which appeared during the construction Circum Baikal railroad and is located at Ivanovskiy cape. It is a marble deposit with a rare combination of rocks and minerals (about 70 types), which stretches for about 1,5 km. It is impossible to pass by and not notice it: especially on a sunny day its slope shines brightly, and allows to see the blue bottom of the marble cavity. In the last years this cut has become more popular among mineralogy enthusiasts due to presence of numerous precious spinel crystals - hard mineral which reaches several centimeters long.
