Chulchinsky Waterfall (Uchar)

Chulchinsky Waterfall (or Uchar Waterfall) is the highest one in Altai. Its height reaches 160 meters. It appeared about 100-150 years ago after a landslide that obstructed the troubled river. However it was only discovered a few decades ago. To get to the waterfall one has to cross Chulyshman River to get on its right bank. A path leads from Chulyshman to Chulchinsky Waterfall along Chulchy River. The roar of the water can be heard long before getting to the actual fall and as you get nearer the roar gets so loud that you wouldn't hear someone screaming. Today Chulchinsky waterfall is one of the main attractions of Gorno-Altai although it is hard to reach.
