Peter the Great Square

Peter the Great Square appeared in Lipetsk in 1970. At the time it was called Karl Marx Square. On October 20 2996, on the 300th anniversary of the Russian fleet, a statue of Peter the Great was erected on the square, hence the current name. Today it is on this square that most official and sport events take place. In July 2006, a fountain was added to the square. It gives music and light performances.
