Regional Museum

The Regional Museum of Karelia is the oldest museum of Petrozavodsk. It was founded in 1871 by famous local searcher: Alexander Ivanov. The museum is located in a building that used to host the chancellery and was built in 18th century. The many halls of the museum tell the story of the Region of Karelia, its archeology, the diversity of its nature and present its culture, the way of life and traditions of the native peoples: Karelians and Vepsians.
