Avanchinsky Volcano

Avachinsky is one of the 29 active volcanoes of Kamchatka and is located in the eastern range. It is on the territory of Nalychevo Nature Park included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. With volcanoes Aag and Koriaksky they make the “Three Volcanoes” Zoological Reserve. Avachinsky is a 2,741 meters high stratovolcano and belongs to the Anchinsky-Koriaksky Volcanic group. Its last eruption took place in 2001. Avachinsky as well as Koriaksky are located at the north east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Yelizovo (25-30 km), you can easily observe them from the latter city.
