Karimsky Volcano

Karimsky is a 1,536 meters high stratovolcano located in the centre of a 5km wide caldera in the eastern volcanic range about 115km away from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It belongs to Karimsky-Maly Semiachik Volcanic Group made up of 10 volcanoes. Karimsky can potentially send a 10km high ash column into the air. In 2011, such a column reached a height of 6km which had the volcano placed on the orange level of air surveillance.
