Tyuchevskiye Hot Springs

Tyuchevskiye hot springs are among the unique natural sites of Kronotsky National Biosphere Reserve. Made up of Bolshiye (big) and Maliye (small) Tyuchevskiye, they are located in the Valley of Tyuchevsky River, 15-18km from its mouth. They stream into waterfalls on the rocks. The rate of flow is 70L/s. Inhabitants of the neighboring village have built two pools. The temperature of the water reaches 50-65°C and it is famous for its curative virtues. The water is alkaline, low in mineral, but has sulfate and sodium chloride as well as high level of silica acid. Near Bolshiye Tyuchevskiye the riverbed turns into a powerfull waterfall which makes the landscape really picturesque. No human impact is to be deplored on the surrounding nature of the springs which allows 8 plants from Kamchatka’s Red book of protected species to grow.
