Monument to Saint Pyotr and Fevroniya Muromsky

This monument dedicated to Saint Pyotr and Fevroniya Muromsky, protectors of love and marriage, was unveiled on September 14, 2011. It was erected in Irkutsk within the framework of a Russian spiritual and educational program called “In the family circle”. This event also happened on the year of the celebration of Irkutsk’s 350 years anniversary. The monument is made up of 2.5 meters high bronze statues of the saints (weighing about 2.1 tons). The pedestal of the monument reads “the saint couple, Prince Pyotr and Pincess Fevroniya Murkomsky”. It was erected close to the Church of the Savior, near the Eternal Flame. Such a location is not random: the newly weds often come here after the registration of their marriage.
