Bakening Volcano

Bakening volcano is located in the eastern range and doesn’t belong to any volcanic group or massif. It is at the north of Srednaya Avacha River valley, at the junction of crests Ganalsky and Valaguinsky. Reaching a height of 2,278 meters it is twice as high as all the nearby volcanoes. Its crater has a demolished wall where a kind of obelisk arises. This stratovolcano, cone-shaped, has a 5km wide base. Its last eruption is estimated at 550 BC, it is now extinct. Bakening is surrounded by several small lakes.
